We’re halfway into the year and the music just seems to be getting better. The month of June seemed quite long and although we’re only getting older, these young artists and the comeback of a forever young artist is what’s keeping us going.

Here are the best and latest tracks under our radar this month:

‘Even in an Alternate Universe’ by YsanYgo
Even in an alternative universe, we’d still be hand in hand

The no-genre sibling duo, YsanYgo,  released a new single about the kind of love that transcends through time and space. If you’re someone that believes in a love that lasts forever, through thick and thin, then this song is perfect for you and your boo.

‘For A While’ by Alpha Yang
I need to break the tension, hold me down I’m gonna figure this all out for a while

To everyone that’s a little bit lost in the midst of everything going on in your lives, Alpha Yang’s new single’s here to remind you that it’s okay to take a step back and figure things out. This isn’t a race.

‘Ayaw’ by syd hartha
‘Di lahat ng gusto dapat masunod, ‘Di lahat ng hiling dapat matupad mo

The17-year-old singer-songwriter, syd hartha, is speaking up for those who don’t have a voice in her new song “ayaw”. The lyrics of the song talk about sexual harassment and the importance of consent in today’s world.

‘Tigre’ by Barbie Almalbis
Let nothing keep us apart, ‘Cause we built this life from the start

After a five-year hiatus, the ever so youthful Barbie Almalbis is under the spotlight with her new EP called Tigre, inspired by her pet cat.  The EP contains three songs entitled “Tigre,” “Cover,” and “Ghost.” "Tigre" is co-written with Barbie's husband, Martin Honasan, while "Cover" is a collaboration with her friend, Michelle Rivera. Hearing Barbie’s voice brings back a fresh yet nostalgic feeling into today’s music scene. You can read more about Barbie’s comeback and EP in this feature

‘Bulalakaw’ by Blind Stereo Moon
Guhitan mong aking langit, ng iyong kinang kahit saglit

Bulalakaw is the kind of song you’d want to hear while running across a field of wildflowers at sunset. The pop band from Bulacan, Blind Stereo Moon, is slowly but surely establishing itself as one of the formidable voices behind indie music in the province.
‘Too Many Reasons’ by BRWN
I feel the heat of the sunrise, I see the beauty of the moonlight

This funky fresh single by BRWN is a positive reminder the life’s great and everything is going to be fine; you just need to find happiness in even the smallest of things. This would be a perfect song to play when you’re getting ready for a night out or having a solo dance party in your room.

‘Patawad, Paalam’ by Moira Dela Torre and I Belong To The Zoo
Bakit ganon kahit sa'n lumingon , Lahat ng daan ay pabalik sa'yo

If “Patawad, Paalam” doesn’t make your heartache or bring you back to a painful goodbye, consider yourself lucky. Moira Dela Torre and I Belong To The Zoo are known for their heartfelt songs about love and heartbreak so it comes as no surprise that this song would be a hit in the “songs that make us want to cry” department.
