Make Your Breakfast Extra Healthy and Easy With These Meal Ideas

As most people say, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. However, not all of us have the luxury of time to prepare a good meal to start our mornings. Because of the morning rush, we become content with a cup of coffee, a slice of bread, or a piece of banana—even skipping breakfast. But maybe we with a little inspiration, we can put hot, healthier, and easy-to-prepare food on our table. And the Maya Kitchen is here to the rescue!

Wake up to great mornings with these three easy, good-for-you recipes:

Champorado with whole rolled oatmeal

All you need for this champorado recipe are four ingredients: MAYA Champorado Mix, whole rolled oatmeal, sugar, and water. This will make a hearty and sweet breakfast that would probably keep you full until lunchtime.

What you need:

5 cups water
1/2 cup sugar
1 pack Maya Champorado Mix, 113.5 grams
1/2 cup whole rolled oatmeal

What to do:

Boil water with sugar and 1 pack Maya Champorado Mix. Stir occasionally for 10 minutes or until rice is cooked. Add whole rolled oatmeal and continue cooking for another 2 to 3 minutes, add more water if the champorado is too thick. Serve with milk as desired. Makes 4 to 5 servings.

Healthy Breakfast Hotcakes with Fresh Fruits

Not a fan of fruits? Add them to your classic favorite pancakes! This might help change your mind about eating healthy. And if you have kids at home, you can even let them to join in preparing delicious and nutritious pancakes.

What you need:

1 piece medium-sized egg
2 tablespoons oil
3/4 cup water
1 pack Maya Original Hotcake Mix, 250 grams
assorted fruits for toppings
maple syrup/honey

What to do:

Beat egg slightly in a bowl, then add in water, oil and hotcake mix. Stir just until slightly lumpy (do not overmix). Pour 1/4 to 1/3 cup batter onto a pre-heated slightly greased pan or flat skillet. Cook until bubbly. Turn to cook the other side. Topped hotcakes with assorted fruits and pour maple syrup/honey on top. Serve. Makes eight to 10 hotcakes.

Beef Pastrami Benedict

Make an impressive sandwich in less than 30 minutes! This may look complicated, but its recipe is actually quite simple. Just follow the instructions correctly and you’ll be a pro in making Beef Pastrami Benedict in no time!

What you need:

For the hollandaise sauce:
1/2 cup clarified butter
2 egg yolks
1 1/2 teaspoons water
1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
salt and white pepper to taste
6 pieces poached egg

For Beef Pastrami Benedict:
3 - 4 pieces ciabatta bread
Olive oil, as needed
8 slices pastrami
1 piece egg, poached
sliced cherry tomatoes, as needed
arugula leaves, as needed
3 pieces poached egg or soft cooked egg
prepared hollandaise sauce

What to do:

For the hollandaise sauce:
Put the egg yolks and water in a bowl placed over a pot of simmering water. Make sure the bottom of the bowl, does not touch the simmering water. Beat vigorously with a whisk until lemony in color. Remove bowl from the heat then slowly pour in the clarified butter while beating continuously and vigorously, until emulsified. Season to taste with lemon juice, salt, and white pepper. Set aside.

For Beef Pastrami Benedict:
Lay a piece of ciabatta bread on to a plate. Drizzle olive oil on bread. Arrange slices of pastrami, tomatoes and arugula leaves on top of ciabatta slice, place 1 poached egg on top then drizzle with prepared hollandaise sauce.
