Region V aka the Bicol Region, where the Mayon Volcano is located, is rich in abaca and pili products. From handcrafted abaca homeware to delicacies like the pili nuts, the region’s signature products are worthy to represent the Philippines as a whole. It’s about time they go global, and that calls for us to support local! You can do so this weekend at the first-ever Orgullo kan Bikol (OKB) Regional Trade & Travel Fair happening from May 22–26 at the Shangri-La Plaza Grand Atrium.

The fair, organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 5 and Department of Tourism (DOT) Region 5 and partnered with EDSA Shangri-La Plaza, features authentic Bicolano products, all made by micro, small, and medium enterprises from Legazpi City.
It also highlights the fashion and flavor of Bicol through various handcrafted abaca products, accessories, home fixtures, signature food items (pili nuts!), and beverages available for purchase.

There’s more to Bicol beyond the infamous Mayon Volcano, the OKB trade and travel fair prove such. Plus, a visit to the fair might just inspire you to make Bicol your next travel destination. Let’s go support local!
