This Theater Group's One-Act Plays Promise Laughter and Tugged Heartstrings

Teatro Komunikado, the premier theater and production organization of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines College of Communication, is all set for their 17th theater season and the much-awaited Mazkara Festival. The new season will showcase  six original one-act plays for two days.


Mazkara Festival 2018 will be filled with original stories, told in relatable and entertaining ways. As a culminating activity for members who underwent a series of workshops, the festival only promises the freshest stories through the following:


Magnum Opus
Written by: Marck Ryan Cidro
Directed by Al-jhun Virgo



This little masterpiece tells the story of a film writer named Gwen, who wanted to stick to her work’s story but the director and producer had other plans. Will they really turn the film into a Magnum Opus despite their different ideas?


Due Date
Written by: Al-jhun Virgo
Directed By: Hazel Mabana



Due Date. These two words put side by side can really scare us and our pockets. For cohabitating couple Lyn and Ryan, their apartment bills might be the reason to reveal their concealed feelings.


Tong Hits

Lorna, Margie, and Yoli are in their kumare’s wake playing Tong Hits. These “Titas of Slums” will give the audience one hilarious act as they turn the wake into a riot.


Personal Appearance

On to a more serious matter, Personal Appearance tells the story of three passport applicants, and the situations they have to endure to attain a fortunate life abroad.


Ang Huling Hapunan

If you’re looking for a heavier act, Huling Hapunan might be the one that would satisfy you. Focusing on a mother-child story, Minda shares the last supper she would have with her daughter Lenlen before making a decision that would change both their lives.


Koleksyon

Directed by: Marvea Quisay



Koleksyon is the story of Alex, a girl who expresses her feelings through paintings. When a peculiar collection of paintings with “dark secrets” behind it, Alex risks her relationship with her new girlfriend, Janine.
