Readers and storytellers, time to give yourself an advance Christmas gift!

An intimate conference for creative individuals is happening on November 24th in Warehouse 8-A, Makati. Organized by an independent book fair, Komura; Studio. This casual conference is for the readers and storytellers with talks from local and international industry movers of respective creatives in the tech, literature, and art industry.


Expect in-depth discussions between the spectators and the speakers who will be sharing their personal experiences and learnings in managing the real world of creatives.


Manix Abrera                                                                                     
Comic book artist and illustrator



Caption


Manix is a well-known comix artist in his industry whose works are being featured often in mainstay publications. He is the man behind (both writer and artist) the Kikomachine comic strips published in Philippine Daily Inquirer and webcomic News Hardcore published in GMA News Online. The published author is a regular panelist at Komiket and frequents book fairs and art events around the Metro.


Cristopher David
Engineer and co-founder of VR Philippines & Veer Technologies

Cristopher is the founder and CEO of VR Philippines, a community of Virtual Reality developers that aims to transform training and education through Virtual and Augmented Reality. VR Philippines’ goal is to promote innovation and adoptions of this technology through 24-hour hackathons, seminars, and other related outreach activities including bringing the joy of VR to the elderly homes.

Designer and co-founder of Diyalogo PH

Along with the co-founders of Diyalogo PH, Ian thrives in the local art and business scene through his wits and creative skills combined in one. He is one of the creatives behind the quirky Diyalogo merchandise and its social media antics. They have worked closely with known brands such as Adidas, iFlix, Warner Pop Expo, Hoegaarden, Bratpack and more.


Rommel Joson
Artist, illustrator, and professor

Rommel Joson is an independent artist who has received awards for painting, illustration, comics, and design from several organizations namely: the Philippine Board of Books for Young People, the Shell National Art Competition, the Neil Gaiman Fully Booked Graphic Fiction Competition, the Adobo Design Awards and the Philippine Araw Awards. Currently, he also does lectures at the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts.

Kooky Tuason has fused her passion in literature and performance poetry in her chosen field. She has 6 Spoken Word Poetry albums (Romancing Venus Vol. 1 & 2, Bigkas Pilipinas, In:Transit Manila Meets Toronto, Southversive and Bigkas Pilipinas on JAM88.3), an online TV channel (Thinking Man's Classroom), a podcast (Romancing Venus Radio), an art musical (TRICKS!), a coffee table book (Picket Lines) and 2 graphic novels (Eve of the Grey and The House on Road No. 10) under her belt. She has been recognized in Manila and abroad, performing at international poetry festivals in Bhubaneswar, India and The ASEAN Literary Festival in Jakarta, Indonesia among others.

All the way from Singapore, this pop culture junkie will share journey in pursuing her dream of establishing her own magazine after she left architectural degree. She is now embracing the inclusions of her aspirations as the founder and creative director of her own publishing and design consultancy, The Press Room. She is also the editor-in-chief of Singapore Architect magazine, a three-time laureate of the Society of Publishers in Asia, and owner of food and beverage outlets, 15 Minutes and Night & Day bar.


Komura; Studio will mainly feature talks on funding creative pursuits in its ambition to help people make and experience the different forms of literature and storytelling.
