Horror-crime comic book series Trese gets a win as Netflix reveals that it is getting its own animated series on the streaming platform.

The announcement was made during Netflix's "See What's Next Asia" event, held on November 8 at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.

Created by writer Budjette Tan and artist Kajo Baldisimo, Trese follows private detective Alexandra Trese as she journeys along the streets of Manila and protects it against crimes of supernatural influence. We're talking about Filipino mythical creatures such as kapres and tikbalangs!

If you liked the element-bending action of "The Legend of Korra," the narrative of "Wonder Woman," or several other DC and Marvel storylines, then add this to your binge-worthy titles because Filipino-American storyboard artist, Jay Oliva, will be working as the series' executive producer.

No specific date of the animated series' release yet, but that just gives you more time to backread (or read for the first time) the komiks. Which scene are you excited to see?
