Book hoarders couldn't be any happier when the 39th Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) was first announced. It is yet another opportunity to fill up bookshelves and accomplish whatever’s left of their 2018 to-read list.

Books aren't only what makes MIBF one of the biggest book events in the country, though. Happening from September 12 to 16 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay, the MIBF stays true to its heritage while each year offering exciting new experiences, exhibits, entertainment, and more for our literary-loving folks.

Meet book authors

A book fair isn't complete without book creators gracing it. Several participating publishers will bring their new and bestselling authors to sign purchased copies.

See the publishers' booths

Fairy lights, teepees, interactive screen displays—many publishers make their booths snap-worthy. Marvel at the booth designs and get lost in the aesthetics.

Discover fresh titles

For publishers, a book fair is a great way to launch new books. For bookworms, it's a great way to discover just that. And MIBF has lots of fresh titles in store at discounted prices over the course of five days. Need we say more?

Join games and demos

Apart from book publishers, several brands exhibit their products and conduct activities like contests and giveaways. Live demos on calligraphy, illustrations, and other art forms can be speculated, too!

Geek out at the first POP HUB Comic Splash x Fandom Fest

Fanboys and fangirls! The country’s largest fandoms—The 501st Legion, a Lucasfilm-recognized worldwide costuming organization; FightSaber; The Philippine Tolkien Society; Westeros Philippines; Pinoy Harry Potter; and Hamilton PH among others—will come together with renowned comic book creators, artists, writers, and collectors for a weekend of fun fellowship and geeking out!

Adamant in its mission to be bigger and better, the MIBF is treating eager fairgoers a chance on these pocket events. Whatever your motivation is, whether you'll be shopping with a rolling luggage or be present solely to join your bookworm friend, you will be supporting local literature.  And that's more than enough reason to be at the MIBF.
