The morena glow is definitely real and beautiful but sometimes it's just a little bit tricky to enhance it using beauty products, making makeup sessions less fun. We compiled a few familiar situations morenos and morenas would relate to during their trips to the beauty section:

“It's only ‘fair’ for the fair-skinned!”

It’s as if every foundation’s goal is to make make it look like a bright floating head. Foundations are supposed to enhance your skin, not change its colors and most definitely not to make you look like a ghost.

Inside Manila Tip: We recommend you’d try Maybelline’s Fit Me foundation and concealer, the product has a really good shade range!

And when there’s a deep shade, it’s just
way too deep.

It's commonly like this: rows of fair to medium shade base makeup then suddenly, a way too deep shade.

Inside Manila Tip: Find your skin’s undertone, this is the underlying hue beneath your bare base color. Check out this simple illustration below to know how to check your veins to determine your undertone.

Ideally, those who have a cool undertone can find their best match in fair foundations that have a hint of pink underneath. While the neutrals’ right shade should have a good balance between the yellows and the blues. For Filipinas that have a warm undertone, their suitable base is foundations with a hint of yellow.

You've already accepted BB and CC Creams are not for you

As much as you love the K-Beauty products like BB and CC Creams, for your base makeup at least, it's sort of a cult you can't really belong with.

Inside Manila Tip: Belo’s Sun Expert Tinted Sunscreen is one of the raved dupes for a no-makeup makeup look. This tinted sunscreen’s claim to fame is its tone adapting technology. For P449 it’s not so bad to give this product a try.

It's A Morena-friendly Foundation...until It Oxidizes

Every morena has probably experienced this: brought home a foundation thinking its a pretty good match only to find out that it changes throughout the daymaking you look more attractive to other people’s eyes but not in a good way.

Inside Manila Tip: You don’t have to throw the product away. If a complexion product won’t work for you as your whole base opt it as a concealer to hide dark spots and brighten high points of your face.

Every skin color is beautiful, and should be celebrated as is. Ultimately, the makeup department should be fun and empowering for everyone. You may also want to check out and splurge on these local shops that embrace the Pinay skin.
