(Inside Manila) After two years of training and filming, highly-anticipated film "BuyBust" will finally be shown in theaters this August and director Erik Matti could not help but be excited for his latest work to be seen.

To further pique the viewers' interest, Matti, the award-winning director of "On the Job", "Honor Thy Father", and "Seklusyon", declared that "BuyBust" is indeed the best movie that he had made so far.

"I think on my own, I think it's the best movie I made. I may not be the one to say that. Kayo na siguro makapag-judge kung pinakamaganda ko siyang ginawa. Pero sinasabi ko na it's the best movie I made kasi makikita niyo 'yung trabaho sa pelikula. Makikita niyo kung bakit inabot ng dalawang taon. Makikita niyo 'yung hirap nila. You'll see all of it," he said during the film's grand press conference on July 10.

Matti previously shared in a behind-the-scenes video that the movie involved 217 crew, 1,278 extras, 309 stuntmen, 50 nights of rain, 928 liters of blood, 15,321 bullets, 23,057 explosives, and 251,226 grams of gunpowder.

As for the movie's message, Matti stressed that when they started out, the government is still under President Noynoy Aquino. It was only when they started shooting that President Rodrigo Duterte took over the administration, which is now known for its drug war.

He also said that they never wanted to be prejudiced to the government or gather rants on social media and put it in a movie. The team wanted to start fresh.

"We put together something that finds out what's wrong and what's right about this whole issue of the drugs and it's not to go against the opposition. It's not to go against the government, but it's really an objective view of what's wrong and what's right about it," he said.

"BuyBust" stars Anne Curtis, Brandon Vera, Victor Neri, AJ Mulach, Nonie Buencamino, Joross Gamboa, Lao Rodriguez, Alex Calleja, Levi Ignacio, Mara Lopez, Sheenley Gener, Tarek Al Tayech, and Arjo Atayde.

Produced by Viva Films and Reality Entertainment, it set for an August 1 release.
