(Inside Manila) This weekend, watch a selection of the best Japanese films and local independent films, haul books in Bonifacio Global City, see nature through the painting technique, pointillism, and much more.

Where: Greenbelt 1, Makati City and Ateneo de Manila University, Quezon City


In celebration of Philippine-Japan Friendship Month, the Japanese Foundation in Manila holds its annual Japanese film festival dubbed Eigasai. Over 12 films are lined up for its 21st inception, which you can watch in AdMU this Friday and at the Cinema 2 in Greenbelt 1 from 6th to 8th.

Support local independent films! Among the films you can watch are “Sid & Aya,” “Citizen Jake,” “2 Cool 2 Be 4Gotten,” “Ang Panahon Ng Halimaw,” “Pamilya Ordinaryo,” “Kasal,” and “Book Club,” as well as the digitally restored and remastered “Kung Mangarap Ka’t Magising” and “Kakaba Kaba Ka Ba?” Tickets are at P200 each.

Mad About Books Fair

Where: Market! Market! Bonifacio Global City

Harmony Exhibit


When: Until July 15, 7 p.m.


Where: ArtistSpace, Ayala Museum Annex, Ground Level, Makati Avenue corner De La Rosa Street, Makati City


For two weeks, pointillism will fill the ArtistSpace Ayala Museum as the gallery presents Harmony, the 10th solo exhibition of Korean visual artist Su Bok Kim. The artist’s love for trees is at the heart of this exhibition. She paints not only the forests she has seen and felt but also compares relationships of humans with nature. Admission is free.
