(Inside Manila) Actress-entrepreneur Kris Aquino is definitely the righteous holder of the title “Queen of All Media”. As her cousin Senator Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV said, she will even win if she runs for senator in 2019 midterm polls.

Sen. Bam Aquino told “The Chiefs” on Cignal TV’s One News on Monday night that he would not mind having a cousin as senate colleague just as long as she takes firm stands at issues she thinks should be taken seriously.

"Kris, if she decides to run, I think she’d win. At this point, anyone who is willing to stand up and speak out, have that voice is welcome. Anyone who is winnable and kaya manindigan is more than welcome," said Aquino.

Sen. Bam, however explained that Kris’ possible foray into politics will be finalized by the family.

The talks of Kris’ senatorial bid surfaced after she publicly hurled Communications Assistant Secretary Margaux "Mocha" Uson for a “disrespectful” social media post about her late parents, slain former Sen. Benigno Aquino Jr. and former President Corazon Aquino.

In a video she posted as she called out Asec Uson, Kris said that she might want to run for an elective post but she has signed contracts forbidding it.

Bam, who is up for reelection in 2019, explained that Liberal Party’s (LP) yet-to-be-formed opposition is not keen on marching 12 senatorial bets because they would rather focus on fielding various candidates from different parties, institutions, and groups.

The senator also admitted that the midterm elections will be a tough battle for LP and the only way to succeed is through creating strong coalition that would focus on verity and sincerity, especially that dissent and impunity is rampant under the Duterte administration.

Aside from Kris, among LP’s stalwarts is former president Benigno Aquino III.

Another sonorous bet for the liberal's slate is ousted Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno but her camp is still waiting for the Supreme Court’s final decision on their petition to invalidate the highest court’s ruling exiling her as chief magistrate.

Meanwhile, it was initially reported that LP already enlisted Agot Isidro, a staunch critic of the Duterte Administration, in their lineup. But Isidro has not made her decision yet.
