(Inside Manila) Two main business districts of the Metro will be connected come 2021 as the Department of Transportation (DOTr) has granted “original proponent status” to the two-kilometer Skytrain monorail project of Infracorp Development, Inc., an infrastructure project that will link Fort Bonifacio in Taguig to Makati City.

The P3-billion Skytrain monorail project will use automated cable-propelled monorail technology, reducing travel time from uptown Bonifacio to MRT Guadalupe to just five minutes.

In a statement, Infracorp, a unit of Alliance Global Group, Inc. (AGI), announced it would be ready to start the project this year and complete it by 2021.

The project had been submitted to the DOTr on October 26, 2017.

Infracorp is also looking into other potential infrastructure projects, particularly on transport solutions, in several business districts around Metro Manila.
