Take your fashion aesthetic—Sailor Moon fashion.

Here's something we didn't appreciate (or even notice) when we were kids: cartoon characters who changed outfits per episode. A rare occurrence as cartoon shows is geared for kids to easily remember so a different look every other episode won't help. Sailor Moon is an exception.

Sailor Moon is a 1992 anime series following the adventures of a schoolgirl named Usagi Tsukino (aka Sailor Moon) and her group of friends. Each character gave varying casual looks leaning from Japanese streetwear and 80s/90s fashion to corporate casuals when they’re not in their iconic sailor scout forms.

Since the 80s and 90s fashion are resurging, we collated social media accounts dedicated to Sailor Moon’s stylish moments you can take your next outfit inspo from:

Playing with layers can be fun especially with our country’s unpredictable weather, take layering inspiration from these girls. Usagi’s (Sailor Moon) turtle-neck top with those belted turquoise shorts looks fashionably comfortable even when the faith of the galaxy rests upon your shoulders.

If you’re looking for ways to put the fun back in the office, these girls can be your fashion pegs. Do office chic by going colorful like Sailor Venus—an A-line dress layered with a sleeveless vest. Or go a bit out there like how Sailor Mars nailed this androgynous—large long sleeves complete with a necktie and gray slacks.

In a tropical country like ours, owning a swimwear is as essential as owning flip flops. And while you’re at it, go for bikini cuts made to compliment your bod; if you’re lean, wear either a two-piece or a one-piece with cuts around the side to bring out shape just like Sailor Mars and Sailor Jupiter. A two-piece tank-top style bikini and a short-like bottom are for beginners who want to wear swimwear.

Who says you can’t be stylish when exercising? The sailor girls are on it for your sporty activities. Try layering one-piece suits over cycling shorts or leggings (in monotones!) or accessorize your plain activewear with ribbons or wrap-around.

Cuffed shirts are perfect for applying the French-tuck with. It gives off a laid-back feel and makes the wearer look taller. We highly recommend trying matching colors or color blocking for an aesthetically pleasing overall. Take it like how Tuxedo Mask in his casual form did.

With nostalgia as an ongoing theme for Manillennials, Sailor Moon is making a comeback (or was it ever really gone?) through everyone’s wardrobe choices—a fashion inspiration today more than ever.
