Wil Dasovich recognized as Vlogger of the Year at Shorty Awards

(Inside Manila) After beating his colon cancer months ago, Wil Dasovich has another reason to celebrate as he wins an international award!


The Filipino influencer won the Vlogger of the Year award at the Shorty Awards held in New York City, Wil's girlfriend, Alodia Gosiengfiao, announced through Twitter.



"Congratulations to [Wil Dasovich] for winning Vlogger of the Year at the [Shorty Awards]! So proud of you! Thank you so much to everyone for the support!" she wrote.


Wil surpassed other international bloggers like Alex Wassabi, Jason Nash, Scotty Sire, Todd Smith, and Justin Ezarik or iJustine.


The vlogger gained popularity when he shared his travel adventures on YouTube after graduating from college. His followers grew after he recorded his battle with colon cancer, from the diagnosis up until his final treatment. Currently, he has more than 1 million followers on YouTube.


Shorty Awards is an award-giving body, which honors the "best of social media" by recognizing the influencers on different social media platforms. Past winners include Taylor Swift, Tyler Oakley, Adele, DJ Khaled, and J.K. Rowling.
