Pick Your Fighter: What’s the Ultimate God Tier Pinoy Dish?

The Philippines is known around the world for many things, and our distinct food is among our best quirks. Dipping pan de sal in hot coffee? Only in the Philippines. Pairing Pig’s blood stew (Dinuguan) and Sweet Rice cake (Puto)? Only the best food pairings for our voracious appetite.

Since the Philippines has unique and diverse culinary offerings, it’s necessary to recognize it as part of our cultural heritage to highlight our nation’s character and foster national pride and a sense of belonging.

Just in time for the celebration of Filipino Food Month or Buwan ng Kalutong Pilipino as amended by Proclamation No. 469 s. 2018, the Twitterverse once again flared up with different takes on which Filipino food is the best through tiers or ranks with “God Tier” as the ultimate pick.

With ice cream, we couldn’t agree more on this one

And for the afternoon chips snacks

But for the 90s kid, this lumpia is the real deal

Then again, what’s the point of arguing when every Filipino dish is rightfully delicious in its own way? 

How about the perfect Pinoy booze?

Regardless of our opinion on which Pinoy dishes are god tier or not, our unique culinary traditions and treasures should be appreciated, preserved, and promoted to ensure it will be passed on to future generations. Support our local food!
