(Inside Manila) The Binibining Pilipinas 2018 coronation night is coming up and in a few days, new set of queens will be crowned. Miss World Philippines 2016 Catriona Gray is one of the hopefuls eyeing the Miss Universe Philippines title and she is considered one of the competition's frontrunners.

Despite Catriona's pageant experience, Bb. Pilipinas International Mariel de Leon still saw some things that need to be improved. In the ABS-CBN special "Road to the Crown" shown last Sunday, Catriona answered an interview question saying, "My strength is that I'm an empathetic. I feel everything very strongly and I find that when I sing through music, it helps me connect to people."

Mariel then commented, "I really love your confidence and the way you speak, but sometimes it seems just a tiny bit scripted."

This earned criticisms and bashing from the netizens. This prompted Catriona to call a stop on the negativity.

"I've also noticed that a lot of you have taken a comment given to me during the show in a negative way. Firstly, any advice from our queens is valuable to us Binibinis and I took all of those given to me, in a very constructive way! I always have something to learn and improve on, that's why one of my greatest passions is education," she posted on her Instagram stories.

She also said that everyone is entitled to their opinion and just because it doesn't favor them, that doesn't mean they should bash or bully others.

"Be passionate, but be mindful. Let's cultivate an environment, not just in beauty pageants but in society in general, where we argue like we're right but listen like we're wrong. Debate is healthy, bashing is not, she added.

Watch out if Catriona will bring home one of the crowns at the Bb. Pilipinas Coronation night on March 18 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
