(Inside Manila) It is quite unusual for us, Filipinos, to encounter people from other racial groups speaking our very own language, given that this lexicon of words is multifaceted commonly shared by each group.

Knowing that every faction have different lingos, a strange encounter with a foreigner that is fluent in Filipino would always amaze us.

This Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) in Saudi Arabia shares videos of a local customer he chatted with who is impressively speaking in straight Filipino.

In a facebook post, netizen who comes by the name Glen Colinares said “it(‘)s an honor po ito para sa ating mga kababayan dito sa gitnang silangan at sa lahat ng kabayan. “PINOYPROUD.”

Aside from Tagalog, the Saudi Arabia man named Abdul also knows a few words in Bicol dialect. The man described Bicolanos as “mabait” and “malambing.” He also shared that aside from Manila, he had traveled to different places in the Bicol region.

The OFW expressed his deep appreciation to Abdul for learning the language saying, “Saludo ako sa’yo.”

Abdul replied, “I salute you too, I salute all the kababayans , all the Filipinos.”

The post garnered over 3,000 reactions and was shared over 41,000 times as of writing.
