Even to a season where love is celebrated and highly popular, Valentine's Day is certainily not cheap. Weeks before the 14th, chocolates, flowers and every what-not during the love season seemingly hike in price.


But don't withdraw that money just yet! Fortunately, we found 5 spots just around Manila which are romantic enough to celebrate the season of love that are either cheap or free!


Luneta Park


Why skip the classic Luneta Park for a date night? The 16-hectare public park has been a popular spot to spend with the family or a special someone especially at night where the park transforms with dazzling lights and sound show plus the dancing water fountain.

Fort Santiago


Set inside the historic 'walled' city, Fort Santiago is one of the remaining proofs of the century-old Spanish occupation design and the place where Jose Rizal spent the last months of his life. The park is well-maintained with landscape and spaces perfect to take a souvenir photo or a much needed selfie. You can even take a Kalesa ride or see park guards all in full costume of the era.

Paco Park


A little bit further than Luneta and Fort Santiago, take your date to Paco Park. It maybe small but Paco Park's hallowed walls gives off a quiet but romantic atmosphere. It has also become a favorite location for weddings and prenuptial shoots.

Washington Sycip Park


To those who reside in Makati, the beautiful landscape of Washington Sycip Park is your perfect date spot. This small park is known for its lush greenery, koi pond and sculptures. Your date will sure be captured with the tranquility of the Japanese Garden called Tsukuri-En.

Jaime C. Velasquez Park


Jaime C. Velasquez Park better known Salcedo Park has always been known for being Makati's weekend market, but it's still a good place to chill and spend the day this Valentine's. Take an awe good look at the hanging decorations around the trees, maybe do a morning jog, or just take a good walk around, with your beau, and see the different activities of this park-turned market at weekend.
