(Inside Manila) Aware of the lack of literary respite at La Fuerza, coworking space Warehouse Eight and Kwago Bookstore collaborate once more to build a permanent book bar in the compound through an open fundraising gathering.

The book bar aims to offer a “quiet space to escape, to discover and fixate on stories, and to shy away from technology even for a few minutes.” As an independent bookstore, it will provide local independent artists and publications a storytelling platform to showcase their works. You could help build it.

There will be a lounge where guests can play vinyl records, a carefully curated collection of books and magazines, fiction-inspired drinks, drunk poetry reading, and free prints and zines. Sales from the bar and library will fund Kwago’s bookstore, thus building a much-needed literary escape and hangout place at La Fuerza.

Book Bar At The Warehouse is happening on January 27 to 28, from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Warehouse Eight, La Fuerza Plaza, Chino Roces Avenue, Makati. Entrance is free and open to everyone.
