It’s a week of trailer reveals! From the first teaser trailer of Toy Story 4 to Stranger Things’s Season 3 trailer. There’s so much going on and we’re not even at the end of March yet! Read below to find out what happened this week inside Manila:
Grace Poe Remains on Top of Senatorial Survey
Who is most likely to win?
Pulse Asia Survey’s February 2019 senatorial survey revealed Senators Grace Poe and Cynthia Villar, Special Assistant to the President Bong Go, Sen. Sonny Angara, and Lito Lapid are the correspondents’ top five choices.
The survey had a sample of 1,800 likely voters with an error margin of plus/minus 2.3%.

Disney Pixar Releases First Trailer for Toy Story 4
Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and the rest of the gang are back!
If the last Toy Story movie has left you curious for next, prepare your feels once more as Disney Pixar releases a teaser trailer of Toy Story 4.
In a video posted at Toy Story’s Facebook page last Tuesday, it shows Woody introducing to the gang a toy Bonnie literally made at school named Forky. All is well until Forky made an escape to go back where he belongs—to soup, salad, chili and then trash. Woody tries to get him back eventually falling out of the van. The brand new adventure starts there.
Toy Story 4 is set to hit theaters June 21!

Summer vacation is in full swing—we’re living for the 80s fashion. And Hawkins, Indiana’s Independence Day celebrations are buzzing in the first trailer of our beloved gang of misfits in Stranger Things Season 3.
It’s been a while since we last saw them and season two ended with a new horrifying threat big than they could ever imagine. Other than facing monstrous threats of the upside down, puberty, and normal kids stuff. It looks through the core group of friends is beginning to drift apart
The new action-packed trailer gives us plenty of scares and fun. Naturally, we have tons of questions and plenty of theories about what's going to happen next.
The eight-episode third season of Stranger Things is will be released on Netflix on July 4th.

Daniel Caesar teases Filipino fans in an Instagram Story
On Monday, March 18, R&B singer-songwriter Daniel Caesar uploaded an Instagram story that put his name on Twitter Trending and his fans in a collective excitement.
The video shows a car radio playing Radiohead’s “Creep” with “Manila, Philippines” tagged as the location. On Tuesday, Karpos Multimedia posted on Facebook a teaser for an announcement, while Caesar’s “Get You” plays on the background.
They revealed on Wednesday that the Grammy-Award winning artist will make his Manila comeback on July 23 at the New Frontier Theater. Tickets will be sold on March 23, 10 am, exclusively at Ticketnet outlets and online.
SSS Members to Pay Higher Contributions This April
The increase is from 11 percent to 12 percent
SSS announced last March 19 its increase in contribution rates from 11 percent to 12 percent starting April 1. This is based on the Social Security Act of 2018, signed by President Duterte, allowing the SSS to increase the monthly contribution of its members by one percent every other year until it reaches 15 percent in 2015.
Under this scheme, an employee earning 20,000php monthly can enjoy a 600php sickness benefit per day, an increase from the current 480php.
The law is expected to generate an additional ₱31 billion for the pension fund—adding 13 more years to its fund life up to 2045.
Filipino Author's Novel Shortlister for British Literary Award
It's another first for the Philippines!
It's a feat for the Philippines as Filipino author Candy Gourlay's young adult novel, Bone Talk, have beenshortlisted for the 2019 Carnegie Medal—a prestigious British literary recognition that awards an outstanding English-language book for young adults or children. Gourlay is the first Filipino writer to be shortlisted for this award.
Carnegie Medal's judges said Bone Talk immerses the reader in an "authentic sense of a different time and culture." It was well-researched and its characters are relatable.
Published under David Fickling Books, Bone Talk is a coming-of-age tale about Bontok boy Sakmad, a young boy who wanted to be a man. A sudden turn of events came when the Americans invaded and brought the war to his home.
Winners of Carnegie Medal will be announced on June 19, 2019, in London.
Catriona Explains How Her Mikimoto Crown Broke
The fall apart moment of the ₱13M-worth crown.
Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray on Wednesday confessed that her precious pearl and diamond encrusted Mikimoto crown broke because of all her dancing.
One of Mikimoto crown’s feathers fall off from Catriona’s head while she is aboard a parade float during her homecoming parade in Cubao, Quezon City last February 24. On Twitter, the Miss Universe’s official account posted a candid video of the reigning Miss Universe explaining and apologizing about what happened.
The luxurious headpiece has 500 diamonds of almost 30 carats (6.0 g), 120 South Sea, and Akoya pearls valued at $250,000 or an estimated ₱13 million. The Miss Universe Organization rest assured that the crown will be fixed in no time.
