The first week of March finally come to a wrap. Overall, it’s quite a good week with the International Woman’s Day and the much-awaited premiere of the official Game Of Thrones final season trailer!

Construction of LRT-1 Cavite To Start By April
The construction will finally start after years of delay
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has announced that the construction of the Light Rail Transit (LRT-1) will finally start by April this year.
The 11.7-kilometer railway extension project will connect Baclaran to Bacoor, Cavite, and will add eight new stations to the existing twenty. DOTr and Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) targets to finish the project by the fourth quarter of 2021.
Ifugao-Woven Designs Showcased at Paris Fashion Week
Pinoy Pride in the City of Lights!
Filipino pride conquered the runway during the Paris Fashion Week last March 1 at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France.
Kandama Collection showcased gowns, terno-suits, and blazers made by residents of Julongan in Kiangan, Ifugao as part of the launch of their Fiesta Filipiniana collection—empowering indigenous women through weaving.
Persons With Disabilities are now Granted Mandatory PhilHealth Coverage
It’s a win for PWDs!
President Rodrigo Duterte signed Republic Act No.11228 which amends RA 7277 or the Magna Carta for Persons with Disability. Under the signed law, persons with disability are automatic PhilHealth members.
This means PWDs have better access to hospitalization, therapy, and medicines. Premium contributions for all PWDs shall be paid by the national government. If employed, contributions of PWD members are shared equally by employers and the national government.

Celebrating a friendship of two nations with a boom
2019 marks the 70th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the Republic of Korea and the Republic of the Philippines. To celebrate, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized the “2019 K-Pop Friendship Concert in Manila,” held on March 7 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Headlining the event are the up-and-coming K-pop boy group NOIR, K-pop girl group APRIL, and the young and multi-talented sub-unit of NCT, NCT Dream. The commemoration was hosted by Ryan Bang and Kring Kim and attended by hundreds of Filipino K-Pop fans.
University of the Philippines Press is Having A Sale!

In celebration of their 54th anniversary, the University of the Philippines Press, home to some of the country’s best scholarly, creative, and scientific works, is having a huge sale.

Games of Thrones Final season trailer drops
Are we ready for character deaths?
The first trailer of the much-awaited final season of Game of Thrones dropped last Tuesday, March 5 and it looked like everyone is gearing up for the biggest battle of their lives.
The trailer features a big fight scene (possibly the Battle of Winterfell) between Jon Snow, Daenerys and her dragons, and all the Northerners against the White Walker invasion. It also featured the unfolding of Cersei’s plans, the famous Golden Company of Braavos, and a mysterious new character leading them.
HBO revealed that every episode of the final season is equivalent to a movie—bless our fan heart. GoT’s final season will air on April 15, 9 am (Philippine Standard Time)
