(Inside Manila) The new six-floor Podium, opened on October 27, has not only made heads turn, it also gave new reasons for people to go to the mall as it surpasses the old Podium’s “quick hangout place” description through the number of shops that have already opened. And then there’s more.

Galerie Joaquin, a Modern and Contemporary Art Gallery, is finally reopening its second branch in the new wing of The Podium on December 5. Announcing just that will be Iloilo-based abstractionist Allain Hablo’s seventh solo exhibition, Sacred Scars, which will be on display until December 13.

Established in 2002 in San Juan, the artist-centered gallery that is Galerie Joaquin has since housed notable exhibits from local artists including those of National Artists Arturo Luz, Federico Aguilar Alcuaz, Abdul Mari Imao, as well as those of Presidential Medal of Merit Juvenal Sanso.

Galerie Joaquin is at 3/F The Podium, ADB Avenue, Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City. For more information, visit www.galeriejoaquin.com or follow Galerie Joaquin on Facebook.
