
3 Philippine neighbors top the list of safest countries to travel

(Inside Manila) Asia-Pacific countries managed to land in the three top spots of the world’s safest countries for travel, according to a new ranking report by security website Backgroundcheck.org.
The report placed Hong Kong in its top spot, with Singapore and Japan coming in at second and third, respectively. The metrics used to create the rankings include Crime, Security, Tourism and Natural Disasters.

- Spain
- United Kingdom
- France
- Germany
- Canada
- Norway
- Australia
The ranking described the Chinese autonomous territory as a “destination where a woman or man can walk any street at any time of day or night without fear.”
The website also ranked the world’s most dangerous countries for travelers, with Honduras coming in the top spot out of 121 nations, mainly due to having the highest homicide rate in the world. The top 10 most dangerous countries for travel are as follows:
- Honduras
- El Salvador
- Pakistan
- Chad
- Mauritania
- Mali
- Burundi
- Nigeria
- Lesotho
- Colombia
