(Inside Manila) Think twice before imitating Maria.

After enjoying a swift ride at the ASEAN delegates lane on Saturday, November 11, Binibining Pilipinas Universe 1982 titleholder Maria Isabel Lopez must take a full-stop at the Land Transportation Office (LTO) as they summon her for the violation.

The Transportation department told reporters that LTO had already summoned Lopez after disregarding traffic signs, violating the Anti-Distracted Driving Act, and reckless driving.

LTFRB Spokesperson Aileen Lizada shared DOTr tasked LTO to push a case against the former beauty queen.

LTFRB also said that Lopez’s license might be suspended.

LTO said that they will conduct a proper investigation, which will be anchored on truth and in adherence to the rule of law.

LTO also warned the public ‘not to be like Maria’ as they might suffer the same fate as her.

In the actress’ Facebook and Instagram accounts, she posted her photos and videos smoothly driving along the ASEAN lane while others on EDSA were stuck in traffic.

"Driving with hazards “on” at the #aseanlane 😃 I removed the divider cones !! Then all the other motorists behind me followed! MMDA thinks I’m an official ASEAN delegate! If u can’t beat ‘em, join them! #nosticker #leadership#belikemaria #pasaway #selfpreservation ,“ she captioned.

To her defense, Lopez said that it was ‘call of nature’ which urged her to violate the law.

"Sorry to those who got hurt and affected," she wrote in a Facebook post.
