(Inside Manila) The September Intramuros Open House, part of the DOT’s celebration of the World Tourism Week and inspired by Wow Philippines’ revival program, amassed more than 23,000 visitors, with foot traffic mostly from families longing to see the Walled City’s iconic landmarks.

With that staggering number of guests, the state tourism bureau decided to extend the event this month, hence the Intramuros Open House slated on October 14 to 15.

Visitors may enjoy free admission to Fort Santiago, Baluarte de San Diego, and Casa Manila Museum. Free bike tours, outdoor concert, food exhibits, Sorok Short Film Festival, and much more exciting activities will also take place.

“The impressive turnout of visitors during the Intramuros Open House shows how Senator Dick Gordon’s brainchild effectively worked in unraveling the government’s revitalization efforts on the country’s icons of history,” DOT Secretary Wanda Tulfo-Teo said in a press release.
