There’s a familiar sense of nostalgia and freedom only an all-Pinoy music festival gives; the pride of meeting hundreds of Filipino bands in one venue, the communal experience of being in a crowd sharing the same love for artistry and expression, and the festival-goers singing in unison. This is what “Rakrakan Festival 2019: Peace, Love, and Music” is about: connecting people through music.
True to its aim since its foundation in 2013, “Rakrakan Festival” consistently brings out a massive production set-up. Last year, “Rakrakan: Pinoy Muna” set a record-breaking one-day event with 120 OPM bands at Aseana City Concert Grounds in Parañaque City. This year, the festival is all set for a bigger and bolder two-day comeback with 120 OPM artists of different genres in six stages across the ground (three stages per day).
Maximize the “Rakrakan” experience with pocket events like Skateboarding Exhibition and Competition featuring a free-for-all skateboarding area for attendees, with freebies and prizes for participants; Street Art Contest with five competing street teams; and Merch Exhibit with over 70 participating brands.
Side activities such as face painting and henna tattooing, brand-sponsored games, information drives, and artist meet-and-greet for VIP ticket holders will also complement the whole festival experience.
There’s no dress code, just wear clothes comfortable enough for head-banging and jumping. Freebies are also up for grabs: wear a white shirt to receive a free baller bracelet and wear red to receive roses upon entrance.
Expect to witness yearly "Rakrakan" headliners like Chicosci, Typecast, and Franco along with new ones in the scene like This Band, Munimuni, and juan karlos. For the complete lineup, you got to stay on the lookout at Rakrakan’s official event Facebook page as they drop it one by one.
“Rakrakan Festival 2019” is presented by Rakista Radio and Red Horse Beer Muziklaban; co-presented by Dickies; with Official Venue Partner, Circuit Makati; in collaboration with Virlanie and Kreon.
Gather your friends and meet new people with the same passion for music on March 1 and 2 at Globe Circuit Events Grounds; the fun starts at 12 pm. Tickets start at 500php! For ticket information, log in to SM Tickets or visit www.rakrakanfestival.com for more details.
