The Fil-Aussie with a pure Filipino heart.
Karen was born on September 27, 1992, in Ubay, Bohol to William Gallman and Editha Bayonas. She then moved in Queensland, Australia at a young age and came back to the Philippines years later to finish high school.
She came back for the crown.
Karen was not so lucky to win a crown when she first joined Binibining Pilipinas in 2012. She won the Face of Binibini 2012 or Miss Photogenic award and placed in the top 12. She came back six years later for Binibining Pilipinas 2018 in hopes to bag a crown this time around. Indeed, she proved worthy of the crown, making her the country’s representative for the international pageant.
She has a degree in Management.
Our candidate is more than just a stunning beauty; she has a knack for business too. Karen graduated with a degree in Business Arts major in Management at the Griffith University in Brisbane. She was an operations analyst in London before retrying out her luck in the Binibining Pilipinas 2018.
Education is her primary advocacy.
In one of her Binibining Pilipinas 2018 interviews, Karen voiced out she wanted to promote her advocacy of promoting compulsory education in the rural parts of the Philippines. As a child who was raised in Bohol, she saw what the hardships of students have to go through to go to primary school. This pushed her to focus on advocating for education.
She’s a standout candidate
Karen already won Standout Beauty because of her stunning looks. The press also declared her as the Media Favorite during the media presentation last January 10. She even won Body Beautiful award and a special prize from pageant sponsors during the preliminaries. It’s safe to say our candidate has a huge chance of bagging the Miss Intercontinental title.
Just like her Binibining Pilipinas 2018 co-queens, Karen is in high hopes she would bring home the crown for the country. Will she make or break the country’s winning streak?
