(Inside Manila) As a loving son, Marlo Mortel will stop at nothing just to provide for his mother, Merlie Pamintuan, who is currently in a battle with cancer.

The 24-year-old TV host and actor is set to head a benefit show called "Songs for Mama” and all of its proceeds will go to his mother's medical treatment.

Joining Marlo are Michael Pangilinan, Maymay Entrata, Kisses Delavin, Jed Madela, and other surprise guests.

The actor's mother is currently fighting against Stage 4 breast cancer. She was diagnosed with the illness in 2014.

In December last year, Merlie had undergone a lung operation and an open heart surgery to remove the cyst that will most likely cause her heart to fail. While the surgeries were successful, her cancer still advanced to the fatal stage.

Nonetheless, Marlo stays positive and strong for his family.

"Songs for Mama" will be held on October 13, 2017, Friday, at the Elements at Centris, Eton Centris in Quezon City. Tickets for the show will be available soon.
