(Inside Manila) It was only over a month ago when Sean Fariñas announced that his wife, actress Karel Marquez, was pregnant with their child and even dubbed at as the "Best Father's Day gift ever".

Unfortunately, the joy went as fast as it came.

Karel announced through her Facebook account that she and Sean had lost their baby.

"Our dream of having a baby this year was short lived as I had chemical pregnancies, an early miscarriage at 5-6 weeks; every mother's nightmare. I didn't think it would happen to me, but it did, for the first time in my life, back to back," wrote Karel.

The actress also said she grieved quietly and that it was very hard to keep a straight face when people are asking about her pregnancy. Just like her, Sean is also having a tough time because of the unfortunate loss.

"Hindi nyo alam kung gaano kalungkot yun para sa akin, kahit physically, and that fluctuating hormones it can do to a woman's body didn't do anything well sa katawan ko," she shared.

Still, Karel chose to stay positive and leave everything to God's hands. She also encouraged other mothers who experienced miscarriages, saying "You're not alone."

"Don't give up on yourself. God loves you so much and He will show you true happiness and your purpose, just be patient. Whatever pain you are experiencing today, it will pass. Smile now," she ended.

Karel has two kids namely Keiley and Kyler with her former spouse Arman de Guzman. In December 2016, she married Sean Fariñas.
