It's because of the celebrities' appeal or acting prowess (or both) that we are often prompted to follow their social media accounts. We follow them to get updated with their shenanigans or learn their interests, but not to be entertained per se.
What if, though, we can be?—in the form of YouTube, no less! No shame in hearing it just now because compared to the total number of Pinoy celebrities, there's not many household names in the local YouTube community. Let's get straight to it, eh?
Three important things you have to know about Mikael Daez: he loves coffee, food, and traveling. Accompanied by his long-time girlfriend Megan Young, the talented and good-natured actor-model shares through his channel the must-see spots and must-try restaurants in the country and beyond.
Wil is that guy you wanna be friends with in real life, a feeling that is probably induced by the personality mirrored in his videos. As funny as he may be, "Wil's World" can be a source of inspiration, especially for people going through a journey to being cancer-free. Can you believe he gave up his TV stints to focus on his YouTube channel? It takes dedication and commitment, and he has lots of it.
Rufa Mae Quinto
The actress-comedian took social media by storm when she posted an "audition tape" to be the voice of Waze, a GPS navigation software app. She has been giving us laughs since the 90s (see “That's Entertainment”), and she'll continue to do so on the interwebz.
Travel vlogs (#LostWithSos), fitspirations (#HotSosFitClub), cooking shows (#SolennCooking), speed paintings—while it seems like she juggles all these sorts of videos and more, it also shows just how passionate and gifted she is. It's also no surprise that we catch clever jests from her equally entertaining husband, Nico Bolzico.
The younger Heusaff a.k.a "The Fat Kid Inside" is one of the celebrities that first comes to mind when talking about gastronomy and YouTube. He produces travel, workout, basically any content that can be done with the health theme. Indulge.
Who are we kidding? Her videos would make anyone "smashing" that subscribe button faster than your internet speed—her shiny Gold Play Button is a testament to that. What's hot? She's game. What's not? She'll make it fun.
Really, it's all about following people who embrace who they are and promote self-love. And in these trying times, who doesn't need that?
