Kids, Unicorns, and More Highlights From the Metro Manila Fashion Festival Season 9

The Panasonic Manila Fashion Festival Season has achieved yet another success after its 4-day run last October 16-19, 2018 at the Edsa Shangri-La, Marquee Tent.

On its ninth season, the PMFF committed itself to shape a fashion movement with this year’s theme “Shape, Form and Movement” with its roster of known and emerging designers who presented unique and eye candy looks—igniting a movement in today's local fashion scene.

More than that struts and looks served during this 4-day style festival there are stand out moments that others have probably missed (but we definitely took notice!) here are some of them:

Strut For All Ages

The young and old have made way to the PMFF runway. Renan Pacson's Spring-Summer collection entitled "Shatranj" was opened by senior model! Pacson himself calls the model Hype Lolo.

The tots and toddlers had their own representative too. In an Arin x Vespa Collaboration, an adorable little model walked the runway in a floral and leather ensemble.

Unicorns!

The fusion of retro style, color, jivvy music, and unicorn horns from Dak Bonite's collection called "Euphoria" was a definite millennial crowd-pleaser.

Local Celebs on the Runway

The night was even made brighter as a few stars strutted the MFF runway; Among them were Katarina Rodriguez as a dainty goddess in Bessie Besana, Devon Seron in a dreamy Michael Sta. Maria, Maris Racal in luscious Steph Tan creation, and Kiana Valenciano looking grungy and street in a Kaye Morales look.

Androgynous Looks

Like a true movement, the boundaries of gender norms are nonexistent (inclusivity, ftw). Collections from Kelvin Morales, KC Pusing, and Kaye Morales have shown gender-bending looks for everyone. C’mon guys, it’s 2018!

The Manila Fashion Festival has raised the bar higher; it encouraged the celebration style, shape, movement and even integration in any form it came. It ignited a movement, a fashion movement that is. Tenth season? We’re ready.
