Halloween-Themed Shindigs to Wrap the Month With a BOOm

Have a spooktacular weekend!

If it feels a bit chilly lately, it's because Halloween is fast-approaching. Lots of Halloween-themed shindigs are popping up here and there, and choosing your itinerary can be quite a quandary.

Experience a Mexican-themed Halloween, learn how to write your own crime fiction, binge on thrillers and suspense films—end the month of October with a boom (see what I did there?) with these events:

Dia de Muertos
When: October 26, 7 pm to 12 midnight
Where: Ayala Museum, Greenbelt Park, Makati City

Ayala Museum’s "Midnight Museum" is back, and it is partnering with the Mexican Embassy to bring Dia de Muertos: Forgotten Souls, an ode to the Mexican celebration. Gather your friends, put on your best costume, and prepare for a night at the museum you won't forget. Aptly, there's also a Dia de Munchies for your Mexican food cravings!

For tickets and more information, visit ayalamuseum.org/forgotten-souls or follow the event page on Facebook.

Fright Night Friyays
When: October 26, 7 pm to 9 pm
Where: Korean Cultural Center, 2F Mancor Corporate Center, 32nd Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City

A different kind of Fri-yay takes over Korean Cultural Center's Wave Hall. This two-part event will screen two films, namely A Tale of Two Sisters and Whispering Corridors 5: A Blood Pledge. Free admission and snacks too.

For more information, visit phil.korean-culture.org or follow the event page on Facebook.

How to Write Crime Fiction
When: October 27, 10 am to 5 pm
Where: Fully Booked, Bonifacio High Street, Taguig City

In the mood to learn something new? Storywriting School is having a six-hour crash course on how to write crime fiction, taught by the multi-awarded Dr. Joem Antonio. Oh, and while you're there, Fully Booked is also having a "Halloween ComicFest" where you can score two free comic books.

Science Sleepover: Halloween Special
When: October 27 to 28
Where: The Mind Museum, JY Campos Park, 3rd Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City

Ever wondered what it's like to have a sleepover at a museum? You'll do now because The Mind Museum is opening its doors for a night of an extraordinary trip to the upside down. The program is specifically designed for kids aged seven and above so bring your young-uns—it'll be fun!

For tickets and more information, visit themindmuseum.org or follow the event page on Facebook.

Dia De La Vengo: Halloween Fiesta
When: October 30, 7 pm onwards
Where: VENGO, Legazpi Village, Makati City

Mexican Restaurant and Cafe VENGO joins in on the Halloween fun. Get "frightened" with their Drop Dead Drink Promos and listen to thrilling DJ Performances by Issa Ramos, Rammy Bitong, and Some Guy. No tricks, just treats.

For more information, visit the event page on Facebook.

Sine Sindak
When: Until October 30
Where: SM Cinema branches nationwide

In case you missed it, you can watch up to eight international horror flicks at the first-ever Sine-Sindak Horror Film Festival. Tickets are 99php each but if you're a sucker for scary movies (and sleepless nights won't bother you), then you can watch all day for only 199php. Would you dare?
