The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have reached far beyond just the healthcare industry. From nation-wide quarantines to state-mandated closures, economies are impacted heavily, particularly micro and small businesses across the globe. 

At times like these, we feel powerless with the limitations this pandemic has brought upon day-to-day life. Luckily, the rise of various online platforms has proven to society that anyone can make a difference, can still feel normal—even from the comfort of one’s own home. We need to feel normal sometimes, and these businesses need us, too.

With the goal of providing an avenue to support local business, Veronica Eala and her team created Lift Lokal, a non-profit initiative grounded on Bayanihan. In partnership with Luxx Lash and The Good Trade PH, Lift Lokal aims to give assistance to local independent brands in light of the pandemic through a brand new online platform.

It enables brands to effectively share information on their efforts and to collectively call for support from the public.
Any customer can easily gain access to numerous local brands, keep themselves up to date with countless donation efforts and initiatives, while getting exclusive promotional offers—all in one place!

In the local setting, independent brands fight earnestly to keep their businesses afloat while continuing to provide for the needs and livelihood of their employees. Despite the setback, these brands have taken upon themselves to develop initiatives towards helping their fellow countrymen in battling through these unprecedented times.

Veronica shares, Lift Lokal wants to “close the loop”. This is a call to support local brands while simultaneously helping them strengthen their initiatives towards these people who protect us—the frontliners. In other words, this is an urge to leave no one behind.
