For all the sacrifices our moms have made, a day won’t be enough to thank them. That’s why during Mother’s Day, we try to be as extra as possible to treat the real queens of our lives. But plans for treating them to dinner or shopping on actual Mother’s Day would be impossible for now as we are still under ECQ by then.
We have to be creative on how to celebrate their special day and we have a few ideas.
Order cakes and sweets online
A celebration can be made more special with a cake on the table. Since we’re under quarantine and we can’t buy one outside, you can order online and add in some of your favorite sweets, too! Don’t forget to thank and tip your delivery personnel.

Enroll in an online class with your mom
You can always do something new with your mom even at home. You can consider enrolling in an online class—TESDA has free courses options and you two might be interested in cookery.
Watch a mother and child K-drama
For a change, you can ask your fam to binge-watch a Korean drama. Find your favorite spot at home and watch it with your mother and the whole family. Netflix has the light-hearted and tear-jerker Korean Hi Bye Mama you will be able to enjoy.
Support a cause
Contemporary jewelry shop Cari makes and sells masks for their initiative to help the homeless people and feed stray animals. You can buy a mask for your mom and other mothers you know. You’ll be able to provide protection for your loved ones while helping out others.

Treat her on an online shopping galore
Even though the malls are closed, you can always resort to online shopping and buy your mom something nice. If you have the budget to buy her what she wants, let her pick from the choices. Buy her a new bag, a diffuser, essential oils, the luxury a mother would want.

Cook for your mom
Now it doesn’t have to be complicated. You can explore the simple dishes with three ingredients or less. You can make her banana pancakes in the morning, apple juice chicken for lunch, and mac and cheese for merienda. Just for a change, don’t let your mom lift a spatula on that day.
Go Through Family Albums and Exchange Stories
Since you're all stuck at home, why not dive through your old photos. Specifically, search through the photos of your mom pre-parenthood and ask her about her youth. A lot of you may be surprised at their stories, you may even find out she's just as a rebel as you are. It'll make a good bonding session between you and your mom.

COVID-19 shouldn’t stop us from honoring our moms. Even the simplest ways to thank you will do and we don’t have to go out of our homes to do that. Our safety will always be her joy.
