Why Tirso Cruz’s Instagram Posts Will Teach Us About Love

Back in 2018, actor Tirso Cruz III faced one of the worst heartaches he could ever experience. That year, he lost his son, TJ Cruz, to cancer. He was just 37. But even though Teejay’s not around anymore, Tirso tries to remember him in any way possible. He decided to dedicate all of his Instagram posts to Teejay after his passing.

Tirso posts his life events on Instagram, just like most of the users do. But his captions are what make these photos heartwarming, and probably make you shed a tear or two. He writes the description as if he composes a letter to TJ, usually starting with “Godly heavenly morning/afternoon/evening TJ!” and ending it with “Missing you” or “Love you.”

There are times when the actor would post throwback photos of his family, back when they were still complete.

But there are also posts that update TJ of the current milestones, like when Tirso became a part of the long-running Filipino series “Ang Probinsyano.”

Tirso even makes sure that TJ knows of the current COVID-19 pandemic, showing how his wife goes to the market for their family.

Some photos will make you laugh, but some are just downright tear-jerkers. This goes to show how a father continues to be one, even though his children have passed. Tirso’s love for TJ continues to live no matter the circumstances.

It also goes to show how life is short and can be taken away with just a snap. Unknowingly, Tirso taught us how to express our affection to the ones we love if we still haven’t. The time that we’ve wasted is something we can’t bring back. As a viral photo in Facebook says, “Habang may panahon, bigyan mo ng panahon.” And that’s what shall we do.
