No matter the situation, there are still people who still don’t know how to stop pulling pranks. We’re sure you’ve encountered social media posts where individuals cancel their orders from food apps like GrabFood or FoodPanda, leaving delivery personnel no choice but to eat or dispose of orders. These delivery people use their own money to buy the goods and the unclaimed items are actually their loss.

Concerned citizens created an online organization that helps our delivery personnel, our frontliners, make profit out of the unfortunate circumstances.

Saving the Riders

Order Heroes is a public Facebook Group dedicated to helping drivers sell the items from cancelled orders, no-show customers, and fake bookings on different delivery apps.

To help, all you have to do is wait for a driver’s “Rescue Request” post in which they will provide an official receipt, location, amount, and reason for posting.

You can comment on the post and ask them to deliver the cancelled orders at your home.

Remember: not because you’ve written a comment first doesn’t guarantee you of the orders. The driver will decide where to deliver the goods depending on the place of the nearest “order hero.” Once the food items are delivered, the admins will comment “Order Saved.”

Verifying the Order Request

While the order heroes joined this group for a good cause, it’s always important to be extra wary of the riders you’re saving. To avoid liabilities and becoming scam victims, it’s important to take note of several things.

Check the receipttime, date, location, and amountand the delivery app used. The delivery fee will be upon the agreement between the rider and hero. Make it a habit to also check the Facebook account of the rider. Take note most drivers will ask for cash, not bank transfer.

If they can’t provide proof of cancellation, this is already a red flag.

If you’ve encountered a scam request, let the group admins know so they can take proper actions.

The Bayanihan spirit in us is strong, and we shall continue to strengthen it, especially when there’s a pandemic that is yet to end. We sure hope no more people would take advantage of the delivery personnel. We should help them create a living and thank them properly for their efforts and sacrifices. If there are still insensitive individuals who create fake bookings, you can be a hero to our riders through Order Heroes.
