Vico Sotto, Nairobi, and Other Trending Google Searches (March 29-April 4)

Even though we are under community quarantine, there still a lot of “goings on” within the Philippines. We can see that through our social media feeds and Google searches alone. With the trending circumstances we have now, you’ll realize the community may have gotten quiet, but it’s not exactly peaceful.
LionAir (March 29, Sunday)
On March 29, a Lionair, Inc. West Wind 24 medical evacuation aircraft bound for Japan had caught fire while taking off at the Ninoy Aquino International runway. It has been the Department of Health’s partner in serving the people of Visayas and Mindanao, transporting medical supplies to hospitals in the said regions. The accident killed all eight people on board, including Filipino doctor Nicko Bautista, five Filipinos, and two foreigners.
Sam Morales (March 30, Monday)
Three transgender women shared their experience being catfished by a certain Sam Morales. She manipulates transgender women and making them fall in love with the male models she worked with. When they do, she arranges meet-ups and the guy never shows up. The common denominator behind these fake arrangements is Sam Morales alone.

Bongbong Marcos (March 31, Tuesday)
Senator Bongbong Marcos was tested positive for the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19). The senator has come from Spain where there are also several cases of COVID-19. Marcos is now recovering from the disease.
Vico Sotto (April 1, Wednesday)
The National Bureau of Investigation sent a letter to the office of Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto for the alleged violation of the Bayanihan Heal as One Act. The letter indicated the mayor continued the tricycle operations despite the order to stop them. Sotto insisted he complied with the directives, saying it isn’t illegal to voice out opinions.
Money Heist (April 2, Thursday)
After almost a year, the much-awaited Money Heist Season 4 began streaming last April 3. Day before its premiere, people have been posting and tweeting about the series, hyping it up even more.

Chel Diokno (April 4, Saturday)
2019 senatorial candidate Chel Diokno received a comment from President Rodrigo Duterte for being buck-toothed. The president also said Diokno “talks like a janitor” (whatever that means). He put aside the comments and told the administration to focus on the needs of people.
These searches made it to our lists and we hope the trends will get better for the weeks to come. In the meantime, stay safe and wash your hands.
