There are different genres of music we listen to. Others prefer R&B while others want rock and roll. We have OPM fans and Kpop stans and those who enjoy classical, contemporary or both. But from time to time, we want to go out of our usuals and listen to different kinds of music. The only problem is, we don’t know where to start.
Well, here’s a ~curated~ guide of Spotify playlists that may help you start your music exploration. They’re entertaining, too!
UV Express Playlist by Jan Carlo dela Pena
Has it ever occured to you that everytime you ride a UV Express, you hear almost the same songs inside the vehicle, regardless of the route? Well, if you miss those (especially in this time of quarantine), there’s a Spotify playlist that gathered all of your “favorite” UV Express hits.
High School Field Demo by christarrific
We all have that one song which reminds us of our most epic field demonstrations. We won’t be surprised if you’ve danced along to Bonnie Bailey’s “Ever After”. There’s a playlist dedicated to that song and others that will leave you nostalgic.
Janina San Miguel by Tristan Bill Abad
Filipino creativity appears even when making a playlist. A Spotify user searched for songs equal to every word Janina San Miguel uttered in her viral question and answer video. Talk about effort--meant to be in the “tough ten.”
Manila by Tom Suplico
The radio stations mostly play classic OPM songs every Sunday. If you’re the one who finds that kind of music relaxing, there’s a Manila playlist you can rely on. Listen to Randy Santiago’s ‘Bababaero,” Hotdog’s “Manila,” and VST & Company’s “Awitin Mo, Isasayaw Ko.”
Tag-ulan Hits sa Office by Adrian Andoloy
It’s kind of annoying when it rains hard and you’re still at the office. The gloomy mood becomes even more gloomier while you think about how to get home without ruining your white sneakers. At least you can emote-all-you-can with this playlist.
Playlist na Masakit by Paolo Liceralde
If you've gone through a breakup or in a complicated situation with another, Playlist na Masakit will add salt to the wound. Char. But maybe you’ll find solitude in this sad playlist where you can pour out all your emotions while singing along to the songs.
Teddy Salazar by Al Gentrix
Four Sisters and a Wedding made quite a hit, even years after it was shown on the big screen. A certain Spotify user got inspired by the “Ma, I’m sorry, Ma” line of Toni Gonzaga aka Teddie Salazar and got creative. Then, the Teddy Salazar Playlist was born.
These playlists are filled with new songs you could explore. Who knows, maybe you could create your own playlist for every mood and occasion, too!
