The government recently placed Metro Manila under a month-long enhanced community quarantine due to COVID-19. Public transportation is limited (or close to none) and most businesses and establishments are closed until further notice. During these times, we should be updated, have our basic necessities (without hoarding of course), and limit ourselves from going outside of our homes.

Thankfully, with technology, coping with lockdown can be manageable. Equip your phones with these mobile applications, you never know when they might come in handy.

Available for Android and iOS users

We all know Lazada as the online shopping giant. We can use the app to buy stuff that we need, not what we want. Just expect certain delays in delivery. But apart from that, you can also  support Caritas Manila’s donation drive for the poor and elderly via Lazada--you can choose to buy their LIGTAS COVID-19 kits, Caritas Manna food bag, or cash vouchers.

Session Groceries

As we avoid big crowds like markets, Session Groceries can help you shop fresh ingredients. They will continue to deliver fruits and vegetables to your doorstep. But expect delays as they are limiting the number of their drivers due to curfew and community quarantine. Rest assured, they still serve their customers in NCR, Laguna, Rizal, and Cavite. Session Groceries highly encourages paying the bills online to lessen contact.

Metromart delivers products like groceries, electronics, pet food, and even cosmetics right at your home. This would save you the long lines and lessen the chances of being in contact with other people. But like other online delivery services, MetroMart advises on the delay of deliveries due to supply issues and quarantine.

To continue to support the delivery needs, LalaMove continues their operation while observing proper health protocols. They support the LGU’s efforts to make the essential needs more accessible to the public.

Nike Training Club

For sure, gyms and fitness establishments who continued their operations are limited due to the pandemic. If there are any, you wouldn’t want to risk your health. But it’s still important to keep our body fit and healthy and exercise will help us with that. Nike Training Club will help you organize your routine even if you stay at home.

Available for Android and iOS users

COVID-19 is not the only disease or sickness we should be aware of. There’s an app called HealthTap which can give you free answers and instant help from top doctors by using your smartphones. You can search, ask a question, and assess symptoms, and see a doctor via video, voice, or chat (includes payment/fees).

Available for Android and iOS users

With all the information, we need to segregate what’s relevant and true from the others. Feedly helps us access news from different reliable websites and social media feeds. It helps us organize the topics and trends that are important to us. It will help us be updated with the COVID-19 news without the information overload.

It’s important to keep ourselves and our phones equipped with useful applications, especially in times like these. Never take your health and safety for granted and use technology to help be safe and healthy.
