For sure, your social media feeds are filled with videos from TikTok, a short-form mobile video platform. But what if we tell you you can upload your TikTok videos and help promote the Philippines' tourism?

The Department of Tourism (DOT), in partnership with Tiktok, launched a new dance challenge called #GoCreatePH to promote its "It's More Fun in the Philippines" campaign. It will debut through the content produced by various Filipino content creators in which they will feature different locations and tourist destinations of Cebu and Bohol while dancing to catchy songs.

“The DOT is always looking for new, fresh, and definitely fun ways to tell everyone that ‘It’s More Fun in the Philippines’. “We can’t wait to see all the different creative and entertaining ways our fellow Filipinos shine the spotlight on our beautiful country,” said DOT Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat.

The DOT partnered with TikTok in December 2019 to become the first Philippine government agency to utilize the popular platform as part of its initiative to boost tourism in the country. With this partnership, the country also became a part of TikTok’s #TikTokTravel campaign, which aims to inspire users to share their favorite travel moments on the app.

Filipinos are encouraged to join the dance challenge by uploading TikTok videos of themselves performing the same dance moves while showcasing the beauty of their local travel destinations or even their own provinces. Just like the content creators, participants are urged to transition from one location to the next throughout their dance—identifying each spot via geotag—and can even switch outfits and travel gear for the full effect!

If you want to create TikTok videos for a cause, post your videos from February 24 to March 31 using the hashtags #GoCreatePH and #ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines and challenge you friends to join in the campaign of promoting our country’s tourism.

The Department of Tourism strongly discourages participants from performing the dance challenge in places that are considered hallowed ground such as churches, cemeteries, and memorial sites of war atrocities where people have suffered and were killed.
