When flowers and chocolate stands are suddenly popping up in malls and in the streets, that’s when you’ll realize Valentine’s Day is just around the corner (figuratively). Every person sets a date either with their partners, families, or friends—expect them to swarm in the “perfect” places to celebrate.
But what if you would rather spend this occasion alone than with other people? Don’t worry, we’re here to help you find introvert-friendly activities for a much-needed self-love this love month.
Watch a Movie
When you watch a movie alone, you don’t have to consider other people’s reference. It’s Valentine’s Day but you can choose what to watch Friday the 13th, Shrek, or School of Rock. Who says you only have to play sappy rom-coms anyway.
Go on a Coffee Date With A Book
Find a new title or buy that book you’ve been eyeing for months as a Valentine’s gift for yourself. You can also buy some craft supplies or pens to start a new project. And while you're at it, give your self a good ol' me time reading books or doing your crafts in a coffee shop. ICYDK: You can still enjoy your coffee even outside of work.
Try a New Ice Cream Flavors
Subscribe to Papa Diddi’s Handcrafted Ice Cream with their unqiue ice cream flavors so you can have a fresh batch delivered to your home. Or if you're on a diet, you don't have to deprvie your self of ice cream with Lil Boo Pops' Keto friendly variations.
Cook Something Nice
Couples will swarm over malls and restaurants, that’s for sure. So to avoid the crowd, you can buy some ingredients beforehand and cook yourself pasta, steak, or any grand meal for one (or two if you want to invite your best friend or mother over).
Have a Karaoke Party Alone
Whoever says that you can’t enjoy going to a karaoke bar alone are clearly missing out on the good stuff. Belt your heart out with some Mariah Carey, Beyonce or Duet hits—you won’t even have to worry about others hearing your golden voice crack.
Book A Massage Appointment
We’re talking about self-love and letting yourself relax is one way to do it. Spend your allowance with some self-pampering at a spa and you won’t regret it.
Who says you need to actually do something on Valentine’s Day? Turn off your alarm and keep yourself snug inside your covers all throughout the day.
Whatever you decide, whether you spend love month with someone else or with yourself, remember: self-love is key. Have a Happy Valentine’s Day!
