With millions of books and thousands of bookworms in the book sale, make your visit worthwhile with these tips:

Don’t Set Expectations

We all want to go to Big Bad Wolf and look for the books of our favorite author. But the beauty of Big Bad Wolf is how it’s a treasure trove of books we don’t commonly find in our local bookstores. Be open to undiscovered titles and authors. It’s also a good opportunity to dip your toes into book genres you are yet to unfold. Bring a list but don’t rely on it too much.

Set a Strict Budget

You can get a little overwhelmed when there are books on sale all around you. Even though those books are marked down, buying a lot of them might hurt your budget. Decide on the budget for your book shopping and DO your best not to go overboard. To give you an idea here’s what we got from last year’s haul on different budgets.

Add To Cart Now and Filter it out Later

Like said, there are many books waiting to be discovered at Big Bad Wolf but it’s also a matter of fact that not everything may fit your budget. There is also the fear of not ever finding the book again once you leave it on the shelves. The solution? Add everything that catches your eye to your cart, once you’ve browsed the entirety of BBW, find a corner and sort out the books you’d proceed with you to check-out. Narrow down your options and take only what you need (or will read).

Go With a Non-Bookworm Friend

The buddy-buddy system works most of the time, especially in sales as big as Big Bad Wolf. It’s highly recommended you bring a non-bookworm friend with you who’s game to line-up ahead for you or be your budget police. And by the end of your shopping, you can have someone help you carry those books.

Be Friends with Volunteers

Ask when titles will be restocked or where your favorite genre is located. It can help you save time instead of walking mindlessly in between aisles. And of course, don't forget to be kind to them!

Fun Fact: Big Bad Wolf has been partnering with non-profit organzation Gawad Kalinga for the past two years. For this year, the books donated to the Red Readerhood Corner will be brought to communities in Mindoro and to the calamity-stricken area of Taal.

And while you’re at Big Bad Wolf, you might want to buy someone a book or two to spread the culture of reading. You’ll never know how a book could help someone learn something new. That’s what Big Bad Wolf is about—to make learning accessible and to promote literacy to every country.
