The first month of 2020 is filled with unexpected circumstances, some of them are heartbreaking. There’s the Australian bush fire, Taal Volcano calamity, and the death of basketball superstar Kobe Bryant. But even though the odds aren’t in our favor at the start of the year, one thing will never change: music will help us through the tough times.
Here are the best and latest tracks under our radar last month:
‘Is This The Love That I Need’ by Flu
Could there be a fine line in romance and good times?
Flu makes us question our relationship if it’s real love or something superficial. And while this song might confuse some of us, the band still shows us that the mellow tunes of “Is This The Love That I Need,’ is exactly what we need.
‘DKL (Di Ko Alam)’ by Miss Ramonne
‘Di mapaliwanag na kirot sa aking dibdib. ‘Di ko na alam, ‘di na ako mapakali
Be serenaded with the soulful voice of Miss Ramonne with her new song “DKL (Di Ko Alam).” It talks about love and the confusion it brings to a person who loves another. No matter the pain, she continues to love that person.
‘Buhol Buhol’ by Sandwich
Kulang sa tulog sobrang abala. ‘Di umuusad ubos na ang pasensya
Metro Manila commuters, Sandwich has made a song just for you. For those who are not strangers to the bumper-to-bumper traffic, this is a story you could relate to—a story of how congested roads affect our daily lives. We’ve adapted overtime but how we wish we wouldn’t get up at 4 am to be on time for an 8 am schedule.
‘Comment’ by Barbie Almalbis
Isa lang naman ang magpapangiti, ang iyong matamis na comment
Love in the time of social media is what “Comment” is all about. We all wait for the time when that special someone leaves a comment or reply to our stories. For sure, that single word or reaction will leave us smiling.
‘Sandali’ by Pusakalye
Sandali lang, ‘di ko maamin ang nararamdanan
Never “Sandali” is another heartbreaking song from Pusakalye. Think about how you couldn’t say what you really feel about a certain person. But life doesn’t always promise a tomorrow so might as well muster the courage to do so now.
‘Good Morning, Love’ by Yassy T.
I'll make you coffee just the way you like. I’ll be sure that your cup is as warm as my love
It may sound like your usual kilig love song, but “Good Morning, Love” is more than what it seems. This new music by Yassy T. points out that love takes all shapes and forms, no matter the size, age, and gender.
No Rush by Kiana
Boy you know I want it, we could take our time. We both can't deny it but we don't gotta rush
Getting in a relationship sure makes us giddy, but Kiana’s “No Rush” reminds us to take things slow. Let that love unfold slowly.
May OPM continue to thrive throughout the year no matter what unexpected news may come our way.
