Merz Aestheticsis now on its 111th year and has a long record of constantly pushing the envelope in terms of innovation. This global innovative brand always bears in mind the needs of their consumers. Towards the end of the year, Merz Aesthetics looked back on their rich history through the 2019 Merz Beauty Agenda. They talked about the exciting efforts they currently have underway, and their vision for the coming years.

With more people becoming open to taking better care of themselves, Merz remains committed to allowing people all over the world define for themselves what it means to look better, feel better, and live better, as reflected in their roster of products.

According to Christian Baatz of the Merz Shareholder Council, Merz Aesthtics developed Placentubex, the first anti-wrinkle cream. They also beauty products like foam masks, nutritional supplements, and eventually entered the field of medical aesthetics that dabbles in fusion of advanced technical procedures and innovative skincare products that enhance beauty, confidence, and quality of life in patients

Lawrence Siow, Merz APAC CEO, advocates greater awareness of how aesthetics is beneficial in championing the people’s own definition of what it means to be beautiful and enhancing what they already have, as opposed to changing their look completely.

Meanwhile, Bob Rhatigan, Merz CEO of Americas, also added that, “One main similarity between Asia and North America is that more and more people are investing towards Self Care and Self Love and they perceive aesthetics as a means to achieve this.”

As one of Merz’s top-performing countries in the APAC region, the Philippines has seen increase in the number of Filipinos who are becoming more open to trying out different aesthetic treatments, thanks in part to the company’s various campaigns for its flagship product Ultherapy—from Pia Wurtzbach’s #BeYoutifulStory to #UltherapyForTwo with Richard and Lucy Gomez.
